About us
Satellite Production is the backbone of the creation and delivery of our Space products throughout the world. From the manufacture of our own parts onsite using expertise and often revolutionary technology to assembling our parts together with parts sourced from industry leading providers. We integrate these onto the spacecraft and test everything to make sure that when it leaves Earths atmosphere it is the best possible product we can create.
Production control is at the heart of this interacting with all other departments, from design to procurement, shop floor operators to management ensuring that the schedules are accurate and achievable, that all of the parts are at the right place at the right time and all risks and opportunities highlighted.
We are looking for someone enthusiastic, with excellent problem-solving, time management & analytical skills. There are a number of challenges within production control to resolve, such as shortages of parts, lack of labour and delivery slips.
What will you be doing?
During this placement, the activities you may undertake will include;
- Analyse the production status
- Control resource capacity (manpower: operators & white collars, machine, material)
- Elaborate Production Schedule, and recovery plan if necessary, with impacts on capacity requirements (workforce/machines/strategic tooling/jigs), delivery dates, end production buffer, production partners.
- Prepare and participate or lead the Weekly Master Production meetings involving all the stakeholders.
- Obtain the commitments and challenge attendees not to postpone the planning every time
- Validate and officialise short term planning and/or impact on Industrial System (5M).
- Build, update and analyse KPIs measuring production plan execution and deliveries, define the improvement plan and associated actions.
- Implement the validated Production Schedule decided in the weekly MPS routines into production system.
- Gives authorization to manufacture by converting and releasing work orders according to weekly MPS meeting decisions.
- Check Work Production schedule or MRP parameters, results and messages.
- Update IT official planning and scheduling tool with dedicated stakeholder.
