    This is an exciting opportunity to perform an internship in the Airbus structures test organisation homed in the Aerospace Integrated Research and Test Centre (AIRTeC), Filton.

    AIRTeC is a £100 million state of the art Research & Test facility designed specifically to provide the most advanced working environment and tools for Airbus, suppliers, partners, and academia. AIRTeC complements Airbus’s world leading design, integration, manufacturing and assembly capabilities which already exist on Filton site. The Centre operates on an open access policy where other aerospace companies, industries and research organisations can use the equipment and laboratory space, giving a benefit that goes beyond Airbus.

    AIRTeC homes Airbus’s UK structures Test centre which is one of three Airbus structures test centres that perform or manage the full pyramid of Airbus structures test on all Airbus Aircraft Programmes and R&T.

    The Structures Test Mission

    • To Perform Structural Tests on today's Airbus products : provide date that allows our products to fly & be certificated , demonstrates strength & life
    • To Develop and Define Physical and Virtual Test Means in support of future aircraft products - be ready to test new materials, technologies and aircraft configurations such as ZEROe/Hydrogen aircraft, super flexible wings, blended wing body aircraft.

    What you will be doing

    • Designing & commissioning test facilities
    • Performing testing
    • Developing new test means, measurement techniques and virtual test means

    About you

    Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.
