As an Enterprise Improvement Intern, over a period of 8 weeks, you will learn how to consult the AlixPartners way working closely with senior consultants delivering projects, analyzing corporate performance, driving cost reductions, revenue growth and profitability improvement across industries or functional area(s) of expertise in ‘high stakes’ situations.

 Role description

Your research role will be focused on general research and deriving insights from your findings, identifying distressed business opportunities, market analysis and supporting our consulting teams in the development of potential opportunities through to pitch stages. Responsibilities and tasks include:

  • Perform independent, creative research and market analysis, use internal and external sources to process pitch-critical company information and elaborate findings for the TRS team
  • Identify new business opportunities using a broad range of research too; create a method to track progress and for sharing updates
  • Oversee continued development of research & analysis to support business development
  • Provide pitch support to the Turnaround and Restructuring Team; support them in creating client-ready presentations and the full suite of pitch material
  • Analyse competitor and market intelligence within the distressed and restructuring sector; derive insights and produce regular reports on findings
  • Conduct research and work with external research providers to ensure quality and timely delivery of financial, situation and performance analysis and research

 Qualifications/Requirements

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Some experience in industry, preferably in a range of business-critical topics such as cost optimization, working capital management, operations improvement, M&A, profitable top-line growth
  • Advisory experience is a nice to have
  • MBA with evidence of strong academic success. Degree(s) in Business, Finance, Engineering (or foreign equivalent) preferable
  • Understanding of business issues and the ability to communicate them effectively to team leaders and clients
  • Willingness to build professional and personal growth by working in high-impact situations under time-pressure
  • True passion for achieving ambitious results
  • Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skill
  • Financial Literacy and modelling skills
  • Programming skills nice to have
  • Excellent relationship management with stakeholders while achieving results
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and executive-level presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of an additional language would be advantageous
  • Willingness to travel
  • Current citizenship; passport holder and/or work authorization in EMEA. Applicants need to have their own documents or work permits in place that enable them to travel and work across the European Union
