We are looking for a Sustainability Solutions Apprentice to join our London-based team.

Starting in September 2024, our Sustainability Solutions Apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to develop a range of skills while spending two years working in our Sustainability Solutions team. In addition to on-the-job development, you’ll spend 20% of your time participating in a Level 7 Sustainability Business Specialist apprenticeship. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to embark on a career in Sustainability Solutions and will provide you with the knowledge, skills and behaviors for success.

Your team

The Sustainability Solutions team are responsible for turning the group sustainability strategy into sustainability solutions within Allianz Commercial. Our team is divided into two pillars which are, Transition Solutions and Resilience solutions. Our team works to support clients across all lines of business to create risk transfer, risk sharing and risk mitigation solutions with specific focus on climate and sustainability risks. We create solutions that clients, underwriters and the market can get behind.

As a Sustainability Solutions Apprentice your main responsibility will be to create a clear and customer-focused narrative on core sustainability messages.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include

• Analyse and interpret data related to climate, sustainability, and emerging transition risks.
• Foster high internal and external engagement and build trust by leveraging Allianz Commercial’s stakeholders, and engage employees through ESG and sustainability communications.
• Help to gather data, and produce relevant data analysis, reports and models to support the Sustainability Solutions team’s in their decision-making processes.
• Help to create new Sustainability Solutions and Products through market research.

This role will help you to build and exercise strong analytical and critical thinking skills within the sustainability space, with the chance to solve complex problems and communicate findings. You will also be involved in leadership communications and learn how to comfortably articulate and communicate with confidence.

Eligibility

• To meet the entry requirements of the Level 7 apprenticeship, you must have an Environmental, Climate, Engineering, Science or Economics related bachelors degree.
• You must have achieved Level 2 in English and Maths (equivalent to GCSE grade 9-4/ A*-C).
• To comply with the apprenticeship eligibility rules, at the start of the apprenticeship, you must be aged 16 or over, living in England, not in full-time education and have the right to work in the UK.

• Good computer skills, including MS/Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Fluent English language skills

Further information

• The role is fixed term for 24 months, but we expect well-performing candidates to be converted into a permanent role before the end of this term.
• We offer a generous study package with approximately 1 day a week dedicated to study.
• This apprenticeship will commence in September 2024.
