The role
Do you want to help improve experiences of cutting-edge AMD products? If so, the AMD Edinburgh design team is the right place for you. We develop applications for external and internal use as well as large scale systems that improve the productivity of AMD’s Hardware organization.
What you’ll be doing
- You will be working on advanced designs for future FPGA and ASIC devices across both the Communications Signal Processing IP Group or the Networking Technology Solutions Group within AMD's engineering community
- You will be developing key skills that are relevant to the Data Center, Networking and Communications markets and semiconductor industry, in design, design automation and unit-level verification.
- You will be given guidance on what to do, and the freedom to plan and manage your own time to deliver upon agreed goals.
- Your progress will be regularly reviewed and constructive feedback given to help you make the best use of your time.
Key qualifications
- Exposure to RTL (Register Transfer Level) Development VHDL in Verilog, SystemVerilog or VHDL
- Exposure to digital circuit design and testing using simulation tools
- Exposure to AMD-Xilinx FPGA and system design tools
- Exposure to scripting languages: Python, Tcl, Perl, Unix preferred
- Exposure to AI/Machine Learning desirable
- Exposure to networking protocols and technologies in Layers 2, 3 and 4 of the OSI Model desirable
- Exposure to Exposure to Forward Error Correction or DSP algorithms desirable
- Exposure to C++ programming.
Who we’re looking for
You are studying towards Masters or Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related subject.
