    Amey has a fantastic opportunity for a Summer Intern Civil Engineering Student to join Amey’s NMC NE team.

    • Salary: £10.42 per hour
    • Hours per week: 40 hours
    • Location: Perth, Scotland
    • Start date: 1st July 2024
    • End date: 9th September 2024

    Amey is working in partnership with Transport Scotland North-East since August 2022, with an increased focus on supporting the creation of sustainable futures for communities, together to will achieve net zero targets and improve the customer experience.

    Covering 593 kilometres of network, Amey provide routine highways, bridges and structure maintenance as well as designing and managing road safety schemes.

    By ensuring our roads and highways are well-maintained through all-weather seasons and traffic incidents, we aim to create well-functioning, safe spaces which minimise disruption, keep people moving and support thriving communities.

    As a Summer Intern Operational Delivery Student at Amey’s NMC NE Account, from day one you’ll be given real responsibility, and gaining invaluable experience while working on high profile projects with clients such as Network Rail, Highways England, Heathrow Airport and New York MTA.

    As a Summer Intern Civil Engineering Student at Amey’s NMC NE Account, from day one you’ll be given real responsibility, and gaining invaluable experience while working on high profile projects with clients such as Network Rail, Highways England, Heathrow Airport and New York MTA.

    You will be responsible for

    • Preparation of Statement of Intents.
    • Use construction solutions that cause minimum disruption to the travelling public.
    • Liaise with other delivery managers regarding supervision.
    • Deliver schemes to annual programme and budgets.
    • Ensure that road schemes are delivered to time and budget in accordance with programme and financial commitment.

    Amey's 10-weeks Summer Internship are designed for second and third year undergraduate students looking for practical work experience to support their university studies. You may only be with us for a short time, but we’ll give you valuable work experience and development opportunities, with high performers given the opportunity to join our Graduate Programme.
