    As part of our growing team, you’ll gain invaluable experience alongside our industry experts through a combination of home and office-based working, from either our Edinburgh or Motherwell design hubs.

    Job Summary

    You’ll be given real responsibility from day one and have your opinions and design solutions valued whilst collaborating on high-profile, nationwide infrastructure projects such as the Transport Scotland Network Maintenance Contract, Transpennine Route Upgrade rail project between Manchester and York, Wales and Borders Rail project and a wide variety of National Highways road projects as well as a number of highways projects for Local Authorities in Scotland and across the four nations of the UK.

    As a Graduate, you will be working within the Geo-Environmental team, working alongside our Geotechnical team to deliver the following:

    • Implement the project requirements to fully meet client specification with relevant standards.
    • Undertake any work of a technical nature that falls within ability and competence.
    • Prepare design calculations drawing and documents.
    • Carry out site visits and surveys, inspections and supervise sub-contractors.
    • Prepare feasibility studies, inspection, assessment and technical reports ensuring compliance with Amey procedures.
    • Keep up to date with industry best practice and apply this within a team environment.
    • Compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, particularly CDM regulations.

    What will you bring

    As a Graduate, other than your relevant degree, we don’t expect you to bring prior experience with you when you join us; we will give you all the skills and opportunities. We therefore keep our list of essential requirements to a minimum, but there are a few things needed to qualify for our programme:

    • Minimum 2:1 Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Environmental Science or Chemistry
    • Available to join the programme in June 2023
