We provide consultancy and design services to major infrastructure and local authority clients, enabling them to manage the transport networks and infrastructure assets that are vital to the sustainable growth of the country. Our approach sees engineers, designers and consultants working together with operational specialists to deliver highways design projects for key clients.
The role
We’re passionate about making a difference to society, having recently designed the ‘UK’s first’ carbon neutral road improvement project - an £8m National Highways carriageway reconstruction in Cumbria, reducing carbon by up to 43% compared to traditional solutions and saving almost £3m.
From day one you’ll be given real responsibility, gaining invaluable experience and exposure working alongside our industry experts and across your team.
As a Graduate, you will be working alongside the team to deliver the following:
- Support with cost estimating and monitoring of project budgets
- Assist the project team with planning, programming, cost control and administration
- Attend client meetings and other project related conversations
- Support the project team with preparation of bids and delivery of services on multiple contracts
- Implement quality improvements where appropriate
- Assist in the management of multidisciplinary or single projects in accordance with the requirements of project quality plans
- Participate in regular monthly safety meetings and adhere to the health and safety policy at all times.
Our 2-year Graduate programme at Amey will challenge and inspire you to reach your full potential and build your career with a guaranteed permanent position for you to transition into once you have finished. Throughout your Graduate programme, you will receive first-class mentoring and a structured learning and development programme to enable your professional and personal development. We’ll also support and pay towards a relevant professional qualification.
What will you bring
As a Graduate, other than your relevant degree, we don’t expect you to bring prior experience with you when you join us; we will give you all the skills and opportunities to become an expert.
We therefore keep our list of essential requirements to a minimum, but there are a few things needed to qualify for our programme:
- Minimum 2:2 in Business Management or Project Management related degree disclipine.
- Available to join the programme in September 2023
- We want you to share our passion and desire to develop yourself within this exciting area.
If you possess the determination, initiative, and curiosity to become an expert in your field, or one of our future leaders, then our graduate development programme could be for you.
