The objective is to develop future leaders with a blend of technical knowledge and soft skills (extracurricular activities, leadership, and/or student’s associations).

The Emerging Talent Rotational Program’s selected candidates will work under minimal supervision, but along a solid mentor and buddy support system to foster you during the assimilation process from Academia to Workplace. This two-year Rotational Program consists of three separate rotations in Operations. Examples include Manufacturing, Process Development  (Drug Product or Drug Substance), Quality, Engineering, or Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

Leadership/Management

  • May train staff to perform hands-on tasks
  • May act as program representative
  • May assist with system ownership responsibilities
  • Meet with support system on a regular basis
  • Complete deliverables of projects/tasks assigned
  • Will act as an Amgen ambassador during internal and external extracurricular activities

Technical

  • Basic troubleshooting
  • Assist in the review of documentation for assigned functions
  • May perform routine project management (including documentation of work performed, troubleshooting/system diagnostics, parts/system inventory, maintenance/calibration,  internal equipment delivery for scheduled calibrations and scheduling vendor visits) as the responsible project owner
  • May verify experimental data, monitors and maintains raw material inventory, maintains/revises laboratory guidelines, maintains MSDS documentation up to date and provides basic experiment preparation support
  • Assists in the analysis and interpretation under direct supervision of own data and verifies experimental data from other group members
  • May develop basic scientific skills through routine laboratory tasks completion

Processes

  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Procedures as applicable
  • Regularly draft and revise “routine” documents (e.g. MPs, SOP’s, and technical reports)
  • Demonstrate significant contributions to the business by identifying and recommending improvements related to routine functions
  • Recognize & accurately report problems
  • Maintains appropriate documentation up to date
  • Documents appropriate work output (lab notebook compliance, SOPs, etc.)
  • Reads and follows written technical procedures

Basic Qualifications

  • Graduated from Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or in Life Sciences, Engineering or other relevant disciplines
  • A minimum GPA 3.2 or higher/ 2.1 degree
  • 2 or less years relevant Work-Experience
