Lightbox; part of De Beers Group, is a global leader in the design, development and production of synthetic diamond.
With research and development facilities and manufacturing sites in the UK, Ireland, Germany, South Africa and the US, we have been pushing the boundaries of synthetic diamond innovation for more than 60 years. Lightbox is expanding, expected to double revenue in 2022, compared to 2021. In order to maintain competitive advantage, we need to have dedicated staff on process and data analysis to optimise our supply chain.
Based in the City, as an Operations and Process Analyst the role will be focused on analysing the end to end supply chain data, focusing on statistical process control and operational KPI monitoring. The role will work very closely with other technical staff such as business analysts and technical subject matter experts, who analyse data daily. This role would suit a science or engineering graduate who wants to focus on the processing of data, rather than being hands-on production. It provides a great opportunity for a recent graduate or junior analyst or process engineer to work closely with operations, research and development and strategy departments.
Your role will
- Collate all process parameters from the end to end supply chain, and liaise with the technical Lightbox staff and 3rd party suppliers to establish process trends.
- Work with strategy and finance to run ad-hoc queries on historical operational data, from production outputs to yield analysis.
- Develop yield, lead-time and other KPI dashboards on PowerBI (or similar software)
- Identify areas for improvement using statistical process control and six sigma rules
- Take part in all investigations of problems and help to establish direct and root causes for issues that may arise in synthesis, cut and polishing or jewellery manufacture.
- Assist and eventually lead investigations to identify and understand trends through leveraging data patterns within operations.
- Undertake tasks required by the executive board in support of business growth.
- Assist with operational data mining and dashboard development
- Work with data management teams to assist with dashboard creation and data alignment
- Assist with data management and inventory management where appropriate.
- As and when required, provide support for all operational projects.
- Prepare formal presentations as requested
Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum bachelor degree educated in a STEM field (e.g. Chemical Engineering, Material Science, etc), or relative experience
- High level understanding of MS Office, in particular Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks
- Ability to prepare, analyse and interpret data with statistical models
- Open minded and flexible with a positive work attitude
- Highly self-motivated and directed
Desirable
- Gap and root cause analysis experience
- Statistical process control knowledge
- Experience working with ETL, PowerQuery, SQL or PowerBI
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other similar ERP
- Retail or FMCG experience
