Across the global economy, unprecedented volatility is creating new risks and opportunities — which is a key reason why insurance, reinsurance and risk management are the cornerstones of every company's capital structure. We help our clients identify their risks, ensuring they have the best possible cover to mitigate them.

As well as identifying risk for our clients, we also predict and spread risk. This means that, if major catastrophes hit, economies can keep going and people can get on with their lives. As an Aon graduate, you'll play a key role in making this essential work happen.

You’ll join our commercial risk solutions team based in Leeds, providing risk solutions to businesses across a large number of sectors within the UK. Typically, clients will be either a national or a multinational company, with a presence in no more than 10 overseas territories; the CEO and CFO’s will be looking for a local relationship with their broker, who can provide a tailored approach.

National clients typically require bespoke insurance programmes and associated risk management and risk transfer services. Besides being the insurance broker, the National team provides clients with a claims service and advice on risk management across most industries, with specialisms in real estate, public sector, food and drink, retail and wholesale.

We’ll help you learn about our business and the broking process, develop your professional skills and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike. In return, on top of your salary and benefits, we’ll make sure you’re fully supported to study for ACII professional qualifications.

    The role

Our graduates will be focused on developing client management skills, as well as building relationships with a broad spectrum of people. You will have the opportunity to work with Client Managers to fully understand the Client's business and insurance requirements as well as ensure the highest level of service to each assigned Client.

    Training and development

Our graduate programme is designed to make sure your knowledge keeps pace with your ambition, we’ll also support your development by fully supporting you as you study for the industry-recognised ACII qualification.

After the graduate programme, what’s next?

Thanks to the variety of services we offer our clients, and the diverse range of clients we manage, there’s no such thing as a typical career path at Aon.

During the graduate programme, you’ll be encouraged to explore a number of opportunities across the business in a wide breadth of areas. These may involve joining specialist content teams to develop specific expertise, or gaining broader experience as part of wider business units outside the core role.

There’s also a wide range of roles and responsibilities available to you to take on beyond the graduate programme. For example, a number of our graduates continue their training and development while working towards successful careers as brokers and managing their own clients.

    Requirements

    • Graduates with a 2:1 in any discipline
    • Numerically confident
    • Ability to excel in a competitive environment
    • Ability to build relationships, communicate and work collaboratively to develop solutions for our clients
