Do you have a passion for story telling and content creation? Would you love to learn about the research, writing and publication process, as well as analysing and improving the engagement, reach, and quality of news?

Apple is excited to announce that applications are open for our 2025 Apple News Academy, with opportunities to gain industry insights, advice from journalists, and new skills that can help them make an informed decision about whether to pursue a career in journalism.

No prior experience or knowledge is required. This is a 3 day programme on site in London at our offices, and will run from 9.00am-5.00pm each day. This opportunity is unpaid.

    The Programme

At Apple we believe our employee community should reflect the diverse, ever-evolving world we serve. We’re committed to inclusive sourcing practices, with a focus on ensuring equitable access to opportunities in all areas of our business. This ensures that we have the representation and breadth of perspectives that underpin our innovative capabilities.

Story telling is powerful and lens through which we see things is influenced by the storyteller.

Over three days, the interactive and immersive Academy introduces the fundamental skills of journalism. Modules cover news writing and interviewing, with the opportunity to experience a simulated press conference, generate a story and receive feedback on copy from specialist journalism tutors. There will also be panel interviews, networking sessions, CV workshops and the chance to learn about the many different ways journalism comes to life including Feature Writing and on the Apple News app itself.

    What are we offering?

If you think you could be interested in a career in journalism but don’t know what that might look like, this opportunity is for you. If you know you’re interested in journalism and would like to get started on the pathway to that career, this opportunity is for you.

You will be given the chance to speak to people doing various roles in the journalism space, and start to build a network of contacts in the industry. Following completion of the Academy, you will also have the opportunity to sign up for a 3 month Mentoring program hosted by Apple News UK for focused sessions around specific subjects in the journalism space.

The Academy gives you the foundations you need to also apply for the Journalism Diploma. As part of the 3 month Mentoring program, you will be supported in preparing for and submitting an application to the Diploma, with a limited number of full scholarships covering tuition costs available to successful applicants.
