    What will you be doing

    Argus Media specialises in reports, consulting and conferences in commodity trading. We are now seeking an experienced events marketer to work on a series of flagship events in the biggest and fastest growing part of our global conference business.

    As the Conference Marketing Executive, you will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing a digital and offline marketing strategy to support our events business. In conjunction with the Head of Marketing and the rest of the team and other key stakeholders, your responsibility will be to use offline, online and social channels to generate interest, engagement and marketing leads. This will include the capture of data, obtaining new prospects for our portfolio of market-leading conferences.

    You will have the opportunity to work on a portfolio with a strong brand presence, including several events which are established as leaders in their market as well as related launches in growth markets.     Key Responsibilities

    • Implement and project-manage high calibre, coordinated marketing campaigns for multiple conferences
    • Utilise digital and non-digital channels including but not limited to email, social media, telesales projects, search and SEO and content marketing, working with digital marketing specialists
    • Consider new ways that we can improve and innovate with every event marketing campaign, collaborating and initiating projects with the marketing team
    • Devise, implement and manage strategies to increase conversion of prospects and return of attendees
    • Work closely with other internal teams such as operations and production where relevant to coordinate event marketing deliverables
    • Work with and coordinate deals or contras with external suppliers, media partners and PR agencies
    • Build and manage databases, ensuring to keep data up to date, targeted and relevant for every event campaign. This will involve regular use of the CRM system and excel
    • Use intuitive lead-generation techniques for data capture of new prospects
    • Manage and control the marketing budget for each campaign
    • Produce a post conference campaign analysis for each event using relevant analytics tools to track performance
    • Balance multiple priorities, updating stakeholders on progress and expected delivery

    Skills and Experience

    • Prior events marketing experience is desirable
    • Demonstrates effective collaboration with other brands/teams and embraces new ideas, systems, projects or processes
    • Confident decision maker, with the ability to assess opportunities and risks and flag these to your line manager
    • Experience using some of Marketo, Salesforce, Sprinkler, LinkedIn, Twitter, CMS systems, Canva, basic Photoshop, HTML creation is desirable
    • Working knowledge of Excel and Google Analytics
    • Experience in the commercialization of events including launch events
    • Ability to work closely with sales and align marketing strategy to commercial objectives
    • Willingness to develop knowledge both within the marketing discipline and the industries we serve
    • Experience in digital marketing techniques and channels
    • Establish a data-driven approach to strategic and tactical decision making
    • A proven record of testing, measuring and evaluating marketing channels to optimise spend and demonstrate ROI
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate performance metrics, challenges and opportunities to the event project team
