    Job purpose

    Due to the continued growth of the business, we are currently looking for a driven and analytical Graduate Analyst to join the business. The ideal candidate will be an excellent analyst and will thrive in a fast- paced environment. They will also be process oriented and have a keen eye for detail. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in analytics consulting.

    You will work on the development of demand forecasting models, as well as building and developing financial models and long-term price forecasting models. The role will require you to code in R and to assist in the development of data science and modelling techniques new to Argus. Individuals with an academic background in statistic or econometrics will thrive in this role. The opportunities for reward are excellent.

    Key responsibilities

    • Work on and develop forecasting models with Argus’ Data Science team using R
    • Apply econometric and statistical modelling techniques to commodity data sets

    Maintain and develop financial models (including DCF)

    • Work with commodity analysis teams to produce regular forecasts of demand and prices
    • Provide written analysis for subscription report services
    • Present modelling methodologies and outcomes to internal stakeholders and clients
    • Liaise with Argus staff to ensure current knowledge of Argus products and to identify opportunities to promote services.

    Skills and experience

    • Graduate with a strong degree from a leading university
    • Highly numerate with experience analysing data quickly and meticulously with excellent attention to detail and accuracy focus
    • Intellectually curious and able to demonstrate structured problem solving and analytical skills
    • Proven experience of working with R or Python programming languages at undergraduate or postgraduate level
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks to deadline and to meet targets
    • Works as a team player with good communication skills
    • Flexible in approach, highly motivated and willing to contribute to the growth of Argus’ Consulting Services.
