What you could be doing as a Digital Image Processing Intern
We are looking for a highly motivated intern to join our Image Quality team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with innovative Image Signal Processors (ISPs), for computer vision and human vision applications, from self-driving cars to hobbyist drones.
The team is a great combination of technical specialists and hard-working engineers who are highly creative, collaborative, and encouraging. You will work closely with the team to help develop ground-breaking technology!
We want to make sure that every intern learns about different aspects of our work and grows their knowledge. That is why you will work in a team on real projects from day one, with guidance from experienced engineers.
You will work on
- Tuning, testing, benchmarking, and verification of camera systems to achieve the best objective and subjective image quality from digital cameras
- Support new testing methods, strategies and software tools for tuning image processing algorithms
- Find and solve image quality problems

We're looking for individuals who are
- Undertaking an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or similar, or have equivalent professional experience
- Interested to work in market-leading digital imaging technology
- Excited to work alongside an experienced team to test and maximize the image quality produced by our ISP hardware and the latest CMOS sensors
- Enthused to turn an interest in photography into a career as an imaging specialist.
Qualities that will help your application stand out
A technical mind and a passion for image processing or photography, and skill in scientific testing are the most meaningful attributes we are looking for in candidates.
- Experience of or curiosity about image processing, imaging science or photography
- Competent programming in Python, Matlab or C++
- Experience using Python or Matlab for image processing tasks
- Passion for problem solving.
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of camera sensors and lenses
- Familiarity with versioning environments such as git.
Additional Information
We encourage early applications and review them on the first come and first served basis. Arm Internships require you to be enrolled in a higher education degree and be returning to your course after your internship/placement. If you are graduating in 2024 you will not be eligible for an Intern role but you will be eligible for our graduate roles. Our graduate roles are now advertised on the Arm Early Careers website.
Internship Start Date: April and between June and July 2024. We are aiming to complete our recruitment process and communicate all application outcomes by February 2024.
