Why this Role?
As a DevOps Engineer at Arqiva, you'll be learning to build and support critical national infrastructure that spans both the public cloud on AWS and our two computer datacentres in the UK. Working alongside our software engineering and application teams you will deliver innovative solutions for both our internal operations and our global customers.
You will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects concurrently, developing and deploying “infrastructure-as-code” to connect people and organisations to the data and entertainment they need and want. Keeping critical national infrastructure online and even helping water companies to save billions of litres of water in the UK using IoT devices and Machine Learning.As a DevOps Engineer you will have the chance to work on cutting-edge solutions revolutionising how media is handled, shared, and streamed globally.

Your learning journey will be designed around you so that you can realise your potential and bring the very best of yourself to work. In this role you will learn skills that will gather you experience in a DevOps Engineer position, such as:
- Develop code to deploy complex infrastructure within the public Cloud
- Automate using tools and languages like Python, Bash, Ansible and Terraform
- Support the core infrastructure underpinning most of our new services and products
- Contribute to the long-term thinking around the future of TV, Radio and media streaming.
- Provide day-to-day operational support for a number of services and products, helping to identify problems and produce solutions.
9-12 months starting September 2023. This role will involve both office and remote working and can be based in at our London or Winchester offices. We offer our interns a competitive salary of £23k.
What do we need from you?
- On track for a 2:2 degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Maths, Electronic Engineering, Physics, Media Technology or similar.
- A genuine interest in technology
- A willingness to learn complex technologies
- Good analytical and logical problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
