The opportunity

The Assistant Commercial Manager will provide primary assistance to a project team, supporting the delivery of the project administration and its commercial management.

The role will see you supporting large projects by:

  • Compiling resource forecasts and carrying out suitability checks
  • Assisting in preparation of quotations, monitoring programmes, budgets, spend.
  • Compiling data for payment applications and commercial reports, and monitoring commercial risks
  • Assisting with profit checks and overall team commercial management
  • Performing commercial software downloads, profit checks, rates, recording actions, etc
  • Managing internal project processes.
  • Reviewing project payment certificates, subconsultant invoicing and payments monitoring.
  • Compiling, reviewing, reconciling subconsultant payments.
  • Change control – e.g. preparing and issuing Early Warnings, Compensation events, Request for Information and Employers Instructions.
  • Project Specific processes – e.g. mobilisation, project dashboard
  • Documentation – e.g. recording process, filing and archiving.
  • Audits – compiling information, chasing actions etc
  • Final accounts – compiling information from commercial software, reconciling against certificates/payments etc.

Is this role right for you

We’re looking for a candidate who:

  • Possesses strong Excel skills and is confident in the use of databases and digital platforms and other relevant PM/commercial/financial tools.
  • Has strong commercial awareness and drive to achieve targeted commercial performance.
  • Has previous experience in a commercial role supporting large projects
  • Has the ability to be initiative-taking and plan ahead whilst working under limited supervision.
