    Overview of the role

    These entry-level roles span all elements of the global marketing function and would suit enthusiastic and energetic graduates with an interest in climate change and sustainability, and are looking to build their career within a busy marketing department.

    There are two roles open

    One role to support our ‘transformation' portfolio:

    • The ‘transformation' portfolio includes Climate & Sustainability and Digital Services. Created in April 2022, these transformation portfolios bring together the specialisms needed to help those clients' pursuits of digital transformation and response to the climate emergency.
    • The Climate & Sustainability Services (CSS) portfolio has established Arup as one of the leading climate and sustainability consultants globally. CSS offers a broad range of services with the more established offerings of Environment & Biodiversity, Sustainability Consultancy and more recently adding in Decarbonisation, Social Value, Resilience and Climate Strategy and Reporting to help business prepare for a net zero world.
    • Arup's Digital Services combines our traditional expertise in engineering, planning and design with newer skills in data, modelling, products, emerging technologies, and user-centred design, combined with our advisory skills – driven by sustainable development and being a digital leader in the built and natural environments.

    One role to support our Energy, Water & Resources portfolio

    • The Energy, Water & Resources portfolio provides a holistic range of consultancy services across its component business areas. We have ambitions to become the consultant of choice for Energy, Water and Resources, underpinned by our aspirations as a firm to be a leader in driving net zero carbon imperatives, which is central to the portfolio's service offering. Each of the component businesses has unique market dynamics and clients.
    • Arup's water teams collaborate with partners to build water resilience and share solutions to provide water and wastewater services, protect communities from water-related hazards, and be a catalyst for sustainable development. Our work spans five continents, the whole water cycle, and includes knowledge creation, delivering impact, and partnerships and advocacy.
    • Arup is helping clients across the global energy industry to shift to low carbon and renewable sources while meeting increasing global demand. Whether it is investment or transaction advice, energy system integration, or the detailed design of energy infrastructure, we help clients to chart a sustainable path forward.

    The graduate marketing specialists will sit within the global portfolio marketing team, which creates and executes marketing plans and activities to help build Arup's profile, reputation and influence around the world across its range of markets and services.

    You will work collaboratively with marketing colleagues and stakeholders in the business to curate and deliver compelling market-leading campaigns and content.

    The role is highly varied and will enable you to gain experience and exposure to a wide range of marketing initiatives. Activities include content creation (including but not limited to case studies, thought leadership, social media posts, web copy), coordinating our attendance at events and webinars. Identifying, selecting and submitting entries for global industry awards, copywriting, proofreading and the evaluation of activities and campaigns.

    What are we looking for?

    For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

    • Degree level qualification (a marketing degree is not a pre-requisite for application – we welcome applications from disciplines including humanities, sciences and social sciences)
    • Demonstrated interest in marketing
    • Proactive and collaborative outlook
    • Commitment to developing copywriting skills; creating persuasive and engaging text
    • Detail orientated with good proofreading skills (English as a first language is not a requirement)
    • Highly organised and able to juggle competing priorities, taking ownership for the planning and delivery of defined activities with limited direct supervision
    • Flexible team player, able to work across multiple projects and teams
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft packages
