Launch your career with Arup
Arup is an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, architects, consultants and technical specialists, working across every aspect of today's built environment. Together we help our clients solve their most complex challenges – turning exciting ideas into tangible reality as we strive to find a better way and shape a better world.
Overview of Role
Arup's Protective Intelligence specialists have advised on malicious risks to some of the world's leading buildings and infrastructure projects.
Our Resilience, Security and Risk practice has consistently been at the forefront of the field since it was formed in the mid-1990s. The practice brings together threat and risk specialists, physical and electronic security engineers, strategic operational security specialists, business continuity practitioners and blast engineers in a unique multi-disciplinary environment, helping our clients manage malicious risk, natural hazards and operational reliability in each aspect of their businesses and operations.
Our Protective Intelligence team analyses the nature and scale of terrorism, civil unrest, crime and other malicious risks in urban environments worldwide. Actionable intelligence on threats has a vital role to play in informing the design of buildings, transport infrastructure, bridges and stadia. We work close with our teams in Blast Resilience and Security Engineering in North America, Australasia, Europe and the Middle East. Our intelligence enables businesses that underwrite, construct and operate cities to become more resilient in an evolving threat environment.
