    The Position

    We are looking for a Graduate Fire Engineer to join our team of exceptional Fire Engineers and Fire Safety Consultants. You will be working side by side with our team of exceptional Fire Engineers in all aspects of Fire Safety Engineering.

    This will range from undertaking research on new products and systems, working with design teams, preparing fire strategies, undertaking site inspections and computational modelling through to supporting effective fire safety management and protection measures in existing buildings. Once you have developed a sound knowledge of the industry, we offer opportunities to specialise in different areas to suit your interests.

    Good interpersonal skills, IT skills and a can-do attitude is essential. We are looking for a candidate that will be able to work from our London office on a full-time basis.

    Responsibilities

    • Be a positive member of the Ashton Fire team and promote a professional and enjoyable working environment.
    • Continually advance your knowledge and skills in application of fire engineering principles through continual professional development.
    • Have a sound knowledge of fire safety legislation and the relevant guidance within the UK and internationally.
    • Maintain high levels of quality in all areas and use the support systems we have.
    • Attend and make positive contribution to meetings, both internally and externally, and help us to continually improve Ashton Fire and the wider industry.
    • Work responsibly and ethically in all areas, and always have the safety of others at the core of what you do.
    • To maintain a positive team environment to promote our overall interests without regard to sectional or divisional boundaries.
    • To ensure that all Health and Safety regulations are strictly complied with and that all protective/safety equipment is fully utilised.
    • To operate within our terms and conditions, policies and quality assurance system.
    • To undertake other duties, where within your competence, as may be reasonably required from time to time.

    Skills

    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Strong numerical skills.
    • Excellent communicator (verbal, written and electronical).
    • Good problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment (i.e., with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, H&S consultants).

    Requirements

    • Degree or Postgraduate Qualification in Engineering or related subject or equivalent

    We offer a competitive salary depending on the experience with generous holiday entitlement. You will be working 37.5 hours per week (Monday- Friday) however, our flexible working policy will allow you to vary your day and suits the demands of everyday life.
