    The role

    Our placements provide an opportunity to really learn how a business works. During your placement you will be hands on from day one, you will be actively involved in business projects and your experience and knowledge will be utilised and strengthened during the 13 months with us.

    We have the opportunity for you to join this incredible business within the digitisation and strategy team and assist with the design, development and support of web-based applications that are essential to running our business.

    What you'll do

    • Design and develop software solutions.
    • Provide 3rd-line support for all software solutions developed by the team.
    • Produce appropriate documentation, both technical and end-user, for all software solutions developed by the team.
    • Work with the wider IT department to maintain satisfactory operation of the IT systems, especially those linked directly to your team.

    Enabling the digital world offers enormous scope to develop your career beyond traditional ideas of progression or promotion. Enabling is always evolving.

    We want to hear from enthusiastic individuals who are currently studying for a degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent. We are looking for someone with these attributes:

    • Experience working effectively as part of a team
    • Has a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Has some experience with web development technology such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML etc.
    • Has some experience with programming or building user interfaces
    • Approachable and responsive to new ideas
    • Would describe themselves as 'problem-solvers'
    • Able to organise their own time and workload
