ASR, a leading global company in the sugar industry, is seeking a talented and driven individual to join our dynamic team as a Market Analysis Specialist. As part of our global analytical team, you will work directly under the guidance of the Manager Market Analysis and alongside the VP Market Analysis, gaining invaluable insights into the fast-paced world of sugar trade flows and global markets.
About the role
You will be at the forefront of assessing, reconciling, and generating data on sugar trade flows, global freight markets, natural gas markets, and carbon markets. Your skills in data analysis will be put to the test as you delve into the intricate details of these markets, combining information from third-party service providers with public data sources.
In this role, you will actively monitor vessel movements using cutting-edge tools like BMAP/Reuters and exclusive freight market insights generated by our esteemed Global Sugars Group team. By immersing yourself in these market dynamics, you will contribute to the strategic decision-making process and help shape ASR's market position.
Your primary objective will be capturing and managing data within the analytical team, ensuring its accuracy and reliability. You will provide invaluable support to the ASR Market Analysts team and collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization. Together, we will pave the way to success and outperform our competition.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you must possess excellent numerical and analytical skills, coupled with an inquisitive mindset. Attention to detail and effective time management will be crucial in handling the vast amount of data you will encounter. Your ability to work constructively with internal stakeholders and thrive in high-pressure situations will set you apart.
Your positive attitude and genuine interest in generating market intelligence will be greatly valued. Experience with computer programming languages like Python, SQL, Matlab, or Power BI will be advantageous as you navigate extensive data management tasks.
