Our Manufacturing Engineering function is looking for a Manufacturing Paint Engineer Industrial Placement student who would like to be part of our Placement scheme where you’ll gain full exposure and learn how our Manufacturing Paint department operates.
As part of your role, the team and you will deliver and support the implementation of robust processes, quality improvements, and new model introduction. This role will require you to work both extensively on the shop floor and an element of desk-based, focusing on process and quality control. Therefore, this role requires someone who has an interest in working on the shop floor.
You’ll gain exposure and focus on AME and CME with the opportunity to commission the facility for new models. You’ll be able to gain skills in quality control and data analysis collected from the painted cars and suggest making necessary adjustments with the support of your team.

Key Requirements
- University students pursuing mechanical or Chemical related degrees, graduating in [SS1] [SH2] 2025.
- Evidence of passion and achievements in academic/or non-academic activities
- Have a logical and solutions-focused approach.
- Keen to develop and gain hands on experience.
- Passion for problem solving and the curiosity to understand business challenges and deliver innovative solutions.

Each intern will:
- Develop an understanding of supplier quality processes and tooling requirements.
- Exposure to process documentation and layout planning
- Gain an understanding of paint process creation, new model commissioning and new product feasibility.
- Work on their own crucial projects and as part of an overall project team
- Have an opportunity to put their technical skills to work on intellectually challenging problems.
- Working across a cross functional environment
- Improve your team working skills through practical experience.
- Gain Invaluable experience through different areas Body in White, Assembly, Quality Control and Process Set up.
The Industrial placement starts on Monday 2nd September 2024.
