As our Vehicle Testing Industrial Placement Engineer, you’re a solution-focused team player who can work under pressure and build relationships with ease. You’ll be allocated a mentor to support you throughout your placement.
The role
During your placement year, you’ll gain a clear understanding of the development team, and you’ll gain insight into how to pre-empt any issues that may arise from testing and how to work collaboratively with other departments and team members to find a resolution and you’ll be shown how to make proposals for countermeasures. Your ability to learn on the job and quickly adapt within your placement year is crucial, as you’ll face multiple issues that will provide you with valuable learning experiences.
In this role, you’ll be given the chance to make a significant impact. What's important to you is being able to deal with complex problems and have the opportunity to showcase your skills. You will be working towards finding solutions within tight time constraints and managing multiple tasks effectively.
Key Requirements
- University students pursuing an engineering degree either in Mechanical or Electrical, graduating in 2025.
- Evidence of passion and achievements in academic/or non-academic activities
- Aspiration/commitment to pursue a career in engineering.
- Strong solution-focussed mindset
- Keen interest in Automotive
- Fulltime Gaydon-based with frequent travel across the UK to our AML testing facilities.
- Passport essential – as you may be traveling to Spain/Italy/Germany etc. overnight stays will be expected as and when required.

- Mon – Thurs 8am – 5pm and Fri 8am – 1pm
