10- 12 week summer placement positions available in R&I AI department at our Cambridge site.

We are looking for

Graduate AI Researcher who will be contributing to deliver R&I’s strategic priorities in AI and machine learning. This will include contributing to the design and execution of machine learning projects using the latest methods and engineering best practices. You will gain experience of working in high-performing ML research groups and conduct basic ML research (in partnership with the senior group members) and continue to engage with the external community.

You'll gain transferable core skills and knowledge, in addition to gaining skills specific to the working practices of the team.

Who we are?

R&I AI is a newly established AI team within AstraZeneca with the goal of developing advanced AI models and methods to address problems in the healthcare space. We work in collaborations with other internal AI teams within AstraZeneca as well as well-known labs around the world (e.g. MILA, Cambridge Centre for AI in Medicine)

Essential candidate requirements

  • Strong statistical machine learning (ML) background having recently graduated with a degree in a relevant subject
  • Experience with probabilistic ML models
  • Experience with variational methods and generative modelling
  • Excellent coding skills in Python and Pytorch (please provide a reference to your personal Github page if available)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good team working skills
  • High organization skills and confidence to work independently
  • Concerns for standards
  • Self-motivated, and proactive

The placements will take place over 10-12 weeks, from 21st June 2021. A salary will be paid.
