    Explain what the role involves:

    • being part of a team that works to supply our medicines, provide information about them and deliver support to patients and the NHS;
    • acting ethically, with professionalism and judgement;
    • progressing legal matters and transactions with commercial suppliers and healthcare organisations;
    • applying legal knowledge and commercial judgement to produce solutions which meet clients' needs and address their commercial or personal circumstances;
    • deploying the full range of legal skills - research, interviewing and advising, advocacy;
    • negotiation, drafting, communicating orally and in writing;
    • establishing and maintaining effective and professional relationships; and
    • managing themselves and their own work effectively.

    Training and Development:

    AstraZeneca will sponsor you through your Graduate entry solicitor apprenticeship at BPP University Law School.

    The apprenticeship combines working, earning a full-time salary, with fully funded part-time university learning (1 day/week). This will give you the opportunity to gain a SQE qualification, just as you would if you went to law school full-time and secured a training contract, with the advantage of gaining relevant work-life skills and the excitement of helping to develop new medicines whilst taking your first steps towards a rewarding career.

    Skills and Capabilities:

    We would be looking for the following attributes from our successful applicants:

    • Enthusiastic individuals who are keen to learn
    • Able to act independently but also to work and contribute in a team environment
    • Good organisational skills with an excellent attention to detail
    • The ability to work on multiple tasks and understanding how to prioritise
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
    • A proactive approach to problem solving
    • A strong sense of personal ethics, professionalism and judgement
    • Able to apply technical legal practice into their daily work

    Entry Requirements:

    • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grades 9 to 4 {including Maths and English}
    • Have achieved a minimum of a higher level qualification with at least 104 UCAS points or equivalent.
    • Minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) Bachelor level degree in law or Bachelor level degree in a non-law degree with at least a pass on the Graduate Diploma in Law from a reputable provider.

    Benefits, open and close dates:

    You will be expected to work four days a week for 7.3 hours per day, with One day per week is released for study with BPP.

    This is a 2 year and 8 months fixed term contract opportunity based at 2 Pancras Square, Kings Cross with a starting base salary of £35,000 + 11% benefits fund + bonus.
