The Transportation business covers all aspects of multidisciplinary design and management, from inception and options appraisal through to detailed design and delivery/construction support. It is our centre of excellence for the design of roads and rail infrastructure projects. We aim to be the first-choice designer for local and national roads authorities, contractors, and developers.
To meet our growth ambitions, we are seeking Assistant Structural Engineers to support in our delivery of a significant portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects in Gloucestershire. You will be working on some of the key infrastructure projects within Gloucestershire as part of our Gloucestershire Highways Commission.
To get the most out of this opportunity we would expect ambitious, focused, and determined individuals to support a range of Infrastructure projects, ranging from small to large in scale.
You will be able to demonstrate technical and project delivery experience involving new build analysis, detailed design, bridge inspection, assessment, and rehabilitation schemes. You should also be passionate about bridge design, have a desire to succeed and be part of a winning team.
The role is based in our integrated Gloucester office with the Client, but there will be a need to visit site locations throughout Gloucestershire.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation of bridge and bridge-related structural scheme designs at all design stages.
- Supervising the production of design drawings or other project related design deliverables.
- You will be responsible for resolving technical issues as they occur and for the monitoring of progress of your areas of responsibility.
- Organising and carrying out General, Principal, and Special Bridge Inspections.
Key requirements
- BEng, MEng, or MSc Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Knowledge of the DMRB and Eurocodes in the field of structural design.
- Experience of using a structural engineering software.
- Experience of bridge design, analysis, assessment, and inspection.
