    Join Autodesk’s Impact Team to support the development of Autodesk’s sustainability technology and solutions to the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry’s biggest environmental challenges.

    Position Overview

    As a sustainability intern with a focus on the AEC industry, you will apply your passion for environmental stewardship to impact how designers & engineers deliver high-performing buildings and infrastructure.

    You will conduct and leverage industry research to shape Autodesk’s sustainability strategy, inform the scoping of new technology and source data for new workflows.

    You will learn from and collaborate with Autodesk’s product, platform and strategy team members to assess how technology solutions align with and advance sustainability for the built environment.

    In this role you will expand your AEC industry knowledge while applying your research skills and passion to synthesize environmental challenges to advance Autodesk’s technologies and drive sustainable solutions.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead horizon scan and synthesis of the current and relevant global pressures, policies and regulations for energy, carbon & other environmental performance reporting requirements across the AEC industry
    • Define environmental standards, metrics and methods on the topic of embodied and operational carbon for the built environment to align with Autodesk’s existing and potential industry workflows
    • Explore Autodesk solutions and perform a gap analysis of workflows to identify and prioritize opportunities to embed sustainability analysis and reporting into Autodesk’s design and construction technologies
    • Explore and expand partnership opportunities to advance technology, data and capabilities as part of Autodesk’s platform for sustainability solutions
    • Present research, ideas and findings to team members

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in a relevant field e.g. Environmental Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management
    • A passion for sustainability, eager to innovate at the cross section of policy, design and technology
    • Training or experience in one or more AEC discipline(s): design, build and operate
    • Experience in research, data analysis and presenting findings
    • Comfortable working autonomously, across countries and cultures with a global and team-player mindset
    • A natural communicator, effective for a wide variety of audiences
    • Excellent organization, presentation and interpersonal skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiar with Autodesk BIM technology: AEC Collection, Revit and/or Civil3D
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Team Player/Collaborative
    • Systematic & resourceful
    • Experience in a high-tech profiled company is an asset
    • Familiarity with third-party AEC sustainability technology solutions
