Ready to shine bright in your career?

Do you like problem solving? Relationship building? Do you have the drive to develop your technical know-how? In the Claims Graduate pathway, these skills and qualities will allow you to thrive as you become a Graduate Loss Adjuster at Aviva. It’s all about being there for our customers when life goes wrong and helping to get things back on track as quickly and with as little disruption as possible.

Get to know the role

Loss adjusting is an exciting and dynamic path where you’ll be helping people at the most challenging times. At Aviva, we’re building our internal loss adjusting team, with the ambition to lead the market and we’re eager to welcome fresh talent from diverse backgrounds. If you’re just starting out in your career, this is a chance to bring your unique perspective and ideas to a growing field. As a loss adjuster, your role will be vital – you’ll support customers when they need it most, evaluating claims from various scenarios like fires, floods, or burst pipes. Every claim is different, and you’ll act as a project manager to ensure our customers get back to normal as quickly as possible.

With climate change increasing the frequency of severe weather events, there’s a real need for innovative thinking in how we support our customers and adapt our strategies for the future. And with sustainability high on the agenda, you’ll become an expert in eco-friendly repair methods and restoration techniques.

From the moment you join us, you’ll be in a permanent position where you can own and drive your development. Along the way, you’ll develop a deep understanding of insurance principles and gain qualifications with professional bodies like the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Insurance Institute, amongst others.

What you’ll get

  • A permanent job from day one
  • A starting salary of £32,500
  • Support towards relevant professional qualifications and lots of other development opportunities
  • A great support network to help you grow into your role
  • 29 days holiday, plus bank holidays
  • Flexible working and wellbeing support
  • Opportunities to get involved and give back to our local communities with paid volunteering time
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Discounts on all Aviva products
  • Annual performance-related bonus
  • Share Save scheme

What we’re looking for

  • You'll either have a degree, in any subject, or be on track to graduate by the end of Summer 2025
  • Strong communicators who can adapt to different audiences
  • A passion for understanding and meeting customer needs
  • An analytical mind and talent for problem solving
  • An eagerness to question existing ways of doing things

Where could you be based?

Our Claims Graduate Pathway opportunities are based in Glasgow and Perth: both buzzing places in which to launch your career. These roles are based in both locations, so please tell us on your application if you have a preferred location.
It’s important that you live within commuting distance of the office where the role is based, or be willing to relocate prior to starting as you’ll need to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, working from home. Three days in the office and two days from home is typical, but this will vary between teams.
