We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive full-time Finance Assistant, to work in our Management Accounting team which is part of the wider Finance Department.
This is a busy and varied role where you will be supporting our finance officers in the preparation of budget information; ensuring accurate reporting of the financial position to our senior leaders.
We are a friendly and supportive team that work collaboratively to achieve deadlines in a timely manner. Finance is at the heart of the organisation, and we play a key part in helping to enable the delivery of outstanding policing for everyone.
Main responsibilities
- Ensuring that all work is delivered within agreed timescales andparameters in line with organisational procedures.
- Quality assure data received, carry out research, challenge any changes where necessary and provide expert advice.
- Maintain close working relationships with managers and colleagues across the organisation.
- To assist in the provision of financial control, liaising with other colleagues as appropriate
Skills, experience, and qualifications required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels and deliver a high quality and comprehensive customer focused service.
- Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and work independently
- Good accuracy skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training

We will also consider part time working requests, the minimum hours we would accept would be 22.2 hours (3 days a week).
