    The AXA UK Commercial team in Bolton and Manchester are currently looking to enhance our Financial Lines Digital team and are excited to bring to market an opportunity to join them as a Trainee Financial Lines Underwriter. The role will provide the individual a great opportunity to gain exposure of the market and develop key technical skills, whilst under the guidance of a specialist and supportive team.

    Our Management Liability Policy (MLP) is about proactively helping our clients manage their people, contracts, premises and data, empowering them to confidently identify the risks and vulnerabilities that could cause them difficulties - and should claims arise, providing protection against them. The role will involve analysing the exposure, setting terms and selling cover to our customers via our broker distribution network on our online platform.

    Our Professional Indemnity Policy (PI) is the insurance purchased by companies and individuals to protect themselves against claims for allegations of errors in the provision of their services. These firms can range from Accounts to Zoologists. The role will involve analysing the exposure, setting terms and selling cover to our customers via our Digital distribution network.

    As a Trainee Financial Lines Underwriter, you will be dealing with customers, providing excellent service and working to demanding targets; along with your natural ability to build relationships and deal comfortably and confidently with people over the phone. You will have the opportunity to gain a good understanding of this specialist team, what it does and where it sits within the wider AXA business.

    What you'll be doing

    • At the beginning you will provide administration support whilst undergoing training and development each day.
    • Developing to underwriting new business profitability, accurately and in line with established Underwriting practice.
    • Monitoring renewing risks and helping with referrals.
    • Developing broker relationships to enhance their knowledge of our products and appetite.
    • Involved with the online distribution platforms for our Financial Lines products, but most of all, you will take pride in the service you offer to all customers and partners.
    • Take ownership of a specialism within the Financial Lines trade sectors.

    As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

    This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
