    The role

    The trainee underwriting opportunity is ideal for enthusiastic individuals seeking to develop their career within an ambitious and highly successful organisation.     We have an exciting Trainee Underwriting opportunity available at present within our successful London Real Estate Team, where the team are committed to nurturing and developing our people to reach their full potential. With growth plans in place, we recognise the importance in identifying talented people to become the next generation of professional Underwriters in our business, where you can make a valued contribution.

    At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

    What you will be doing

    • Dealing with our customers, retaining and maximising business through the delivery of exceptional customer service
    • Providing administration support to the Underwriting team
    • Being proactive, outgoing, and confident dealing with our strategic partners
    • Underwrite new and existing business profitability, accurately and in line with established Underwriting practice
    • Supply underwriting support to Account Managers as required
    • Establish and develop business relationships with intermediaries
    • Produce timely and accurate documentation
    • Promote the business through a polite, helpful and willing attitude to all customers external and internal

    This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
