You will join as a trainee as part of the Investment20/20 one-year trainee programme. While we can’t guarantee a permanent position at the end of the 12-month contract, however, if you perform well & if we have an open position available at the time, then permanent employment could be a possibility. The Investment20/20 trainee programme is offered by many investment management firms and 75% of the 2,500 Investment20/20 trainees are offered permanent positions at the end of the one year.
The role
As a trainee, you will be introduced to investment management and you will gain industry knowledge, experience and develop relationships to progress your career and develop skills to secure a permanent role.
We will support you in achieving/starting a professional qualification if this is something you are interested in doing (most firms offer it and we highly recommend doing so). As part of the Investment20/20 programme, you will have opportunities to meet and network with over 300 trainees across the industry and participate in socials and insight events.
The Team
The Core UK Wholesale Marketing Intern will work in the Core UK Wholesale Marketing Function with the Events and Marketing team. They will also work closely with other internal teams such as; comms team, sales teams, to help raise the visibility of AXA Investment Managers and of our key corporate mantra (As a responsible investor, business and employer, we actively invest for the long-term so that our clients, people and communities can move forward). The intern would cover both marketing and events projects to gain a wide experience of marketing & events communications, activities and planning.
Responsibilities include
Contribute to the implementation of the UK Wholesale marketing strategy to include ownership and project management of key sponsored and AXA IM hosted events and the marketing associated around them. To raise the visibility of AXA Investment Managers and of key corporate themes, as well as provide support as required on other key marketing initiatives such as our virtual sales roadshows (virtual lunches), reporting on events and marketing comms and learning/using our marketing email platform Eloqua.
You will mainly focus on
- Event Management & Logistics for UK WH hosted & sponsored (assisting with the preparation of planned physical and virtual event schedule for UK Wholesale throughout the year, taking leadership from start to end with key events to learn the full process).
- Virtual & Physical sales roadshows - owning the virtual lunch schedule for the year (liaising with the catering company and sales support to make sure lists are sent to catering company in a timely manner)
- Being trained by Marketing Exec on how we use Eloqua for email creation, taking ownership of some emails, and insights from day 1. (This would be a good opportunity for the Trainee to see ‘test and learn’ in progress as the contact strategy is very much a work in progress. Providing support for a/b testing and data collation to support Rosie on learnings and optimising).

Qualifications
- Preferably studying or have studied: Marketing, Economics, or Event Management although not essential
- Aptitude and enthusiasm for events & marketing
- Strong command of the English language, written and spoken
- Interest in financial markets/asset classes helpful
- Good strong attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good organisational skills and keen learner
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Team player and proactive worker
- Creative and enthusiastic self-starter
