    AXON’s SPARK program provides successful applicants with the opportunity to gain an in-depth, foundational understanding of healthcare communications.

    Role Description

    Working with some of the brightest sparks in the industry, participants in this entry-level program will gain valuable experience across a range of roles and practice areas in which AXON specializes.

    The SPARK program will be structured as follows:

    • 1-2 weeks of inductions and professional development opportunities, introducing you to the foundations of healthcare communications and our business
    • 3 months with each of our practices, working on projects and benefiting from on-the-job coaching alongside more structured professional development opportunities. Our practices are:
    • Medical, we distill complex science into evidence-based strategies and compelling communications, delivered with originality and precision.
    • Communications, Advocacy and Marketing, we accelerate commercial success by building your brand and amplifying it through creative omnichannel programs.
    • Real-World, working on various projects relating to HEOR/ Market Access
    • Clinical Studies, working on projects that help to propel clinical studies to completion across insights and intelligence, site education and engagement, and patient engagement and empowerment.

    Please note the order is not fixed and will be tailored per participant.

    Key Dates

    We are looking forward to welcoming applications for our SPARK program. Applications will open on 15 th February 2023. Successful applicants will be invited to participate in our interview process in April 2023.

    Selected candidates should get ready to launch their career in healthcare communications in August 2023. Exact start date to be confirmed.

    Requirements

    Although many programs may focus on academic qualifications and target graduates, our entry-level program is open to anyone passionate about healthcare and communications, who wants to kick-start a career in this field.

    While we will provide you with regular learning and development opportunities, via our specially designed curriculum, and on-the-job coaching, we will be looking for applicants to have the following foundational skills and behaviors when applying for the scheme:

    • A keen interest in communicating about science and healthcare to different audiences across a variety of functions
    • Ability to multitask on projects with multiple moving parts, to prioritize tasks and thrive in a busy and variable environment
    • Comfortable to speak up in a group to be a part of finding solutions to challenges, asking questions when needed
    • Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and interacting across Teams
    • Capable of simplifying complex information and writing in plain language, adapting to the needs of different audiences
    • Takes pride in and ensures delivery of high-quality work (e.g. attention to detail)
    • Likes to collaborate and work with others, including remote teams, to take work to next level
    • After a briefing, can work independently, seeking help and guidance if needed, and able to manage own time to create space to focus on work
    • Happy to invest time in own learning and development
    • Receptive to feedback from colleagues and able to implement in future work
