We’re searching for an Events coordinator to join our team on a full-time basis (35.58 hours per week). 

    Our domestic competition pathway currently exists over 250 competitions, largely delivered by a voluntary workforce in which the competition team provides the infrastructure and support for local tournaments. We currently deliver approximately 20 events including Junior Internationals, National Age Group Championships, and County Competitions.  

    This role will be critical in ensuring that we continue to deliver outstanding experiences in a fast-paced, multi-dimensional role.     About you

    • You've got a natural flair with people, and are able to build long-lasting working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Having experience in directing the workforce to achieve a common goal would be an advantage.

    • Working knowledge of MS Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.

    • You can demonstrate initiative with a solution focussed mind and produce creative proposals to problems.
    • You are able to communicate, present and influence with credibility at all levels.
    • You can work remotely whilst also contributing to cross-collaboration working.

    Key responsibilities, main tasks, and activities

    Attendance including overnights at approximately five events through the season. Leading or supporting the transportation and set-up of equipment, direction of workforce and athletes, and delivery of the competition.

    • Provide administrative support to the delivery of the competition pathway including;
      • Booking of competition venues.
      • Administration of tournament and league systems, to support tournament organizers and players entries.
      • Administration of volunteer recruitment and accreditations systems.
      • Raising invoices and purchase orders on the internal finance system.
      • Packing and distribution of event equipment, for example, shuttles and medals.
      • Project management and administration support to the team, including updating of planning documents, data collection, and creation/circulation of key information and materials.
    •  Day-to-day contact with our customers, including for example officials and players.
    • Maintain a clean and safe event storage area, including general load/unload of vans for events, and general setting up of event equipment.

    Key information

    Due to the nature of the role, event attendance will include weekend work, early starts and late evenings. In quieter / non-event periods a normal 5-day pattern would resume.

    Travel and the transportation of equipment will be required so a valid driving licence is essential (the ability drive hire vehicles will be an advantage).

    This role requires some manual handling due to event set-up and de-rig, and general event store maintenance. Training and PPE will be provided.

    Our place of work is the National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes, where you will be based at least 3 days per week. There is an opportunity to work remotely for the remaining days subject to the needs of the business.
