We are recruiting for a Graduate Proposals Engineer.
The base location is Balmoral Park, Aberdeen or Glasgow. There may be a requirement from time to time to work at other locations, including Customers’ sites.
About the role
To work with and assist the proposals department personnel in the review, understanding and documenting or client enquiries. To assist in the preparation of quotations based on the client specifications and instructions. To assist in the administration of the department databases, The above job function is designed to lead to the development of the individual allowing advancement within Balmoral Offshore Engineering.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Become familiar with the procedures, hardware and software systems required to carry out the main tasks.
- Become familiar with products and their function.
- Have the ability to identify, understand, interpret and collate customer requirements and compile compliant and alternative technical and commercial bids as required.
- To work with the other departments on the development of tenders and associated documentation.
- Ensure timely submission of proposals to Clients.
- Maintaining records of personal development and training.
Qualifications aptitude
Required
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or similar
Desirable
- Interest in marine, renewables and subsea engineering.
- Good communication, organisational and negotiation skills.
Skills and training
Required
- Must be an innovative thinker and commercially aware
- Must be willing to develop interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be computer literate particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word and Engineering software packages for which further training will be provided.
