Our Commercial Graduate Scheme will support your personal development and is designed not only to challenge you, but also to equip you with the skills. competencies and experience to be successful and make a difference in a commercial sales role.
The role
From the outset you will be given real responsibilities, working on and leading sales/commercial/business development projects, analysing markets and trends to identify opportunities for growth. This will also give you the opportunity to work with many different parts of the business, building relationships and connecting with the wider BASF team.
Once you have built this solid foundation in the business, you will then gain experience working directly in 4 of those businesses. The focus during this time will be developing commercial sales skills, including understanding different customer models, negotiating, customer relationship management.
You will be supported on this 2 year journey not only by line managers but also a mentor.
Qualifications
- Whether you have a degree in business, chemistry or chemical engineering we are looking for graduates who will achieve a minimum of a 2:1 level / qualification and who have ideally completed a year out in industry as part of their course.
- However, to be successful on this programme and in a commercial sales role, it is not only your education and experience but also your personality that will make the difference. We need proactive and open-minded graduates to join our team who have a real desire to learn.
- Equally as important is your ability to build rapport with others, with first class communication and interpersonal skills. At BASF, only by working together as one team will we achieve success, so your ability to collaborate and connect with others is key.
- A full driving licence is desirable as this role will involve some travel within the UK.
