    The Focus of the Role

    Join our dynamic team of data experts and drive the success of our company by shaping the data & analytics architecture that supports nearly 500 users and 200 well-known magazines and radio stations. As an Associate Data Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on diverse sources and blend them to create valuable insights for our brands and consumers.

    From data ingestion to marketing strategy, you'll have a direct impact on various aspects of the marketing funnel. You'll work with the team on interesting projects such as SCV (Single Customer View), get involved with our ESP (Email Service Provider) and play a leading role in large-scale projects that will shape the future of our company.

    Role Responsibility

    • Help build out Bauer’s cloud based infrastructure and pipelines. Integrating more data and surfacing it into our business intelligence tool that supports Bauer products, services and brands.
    • Support & develop our CRM database and work with the team to improve our data capabilities
    • Provide in depth analysis of company performance metrics, and use this data to suggest and implement optimisation strategies.
    • Collaborate with commercial, editorial, dev-ops, revenue and product teams in producing valuable tools and insight.

    The Ideal Candidate

    Core to role:

    • Experience in SQL (Postgres, T-SQL, MySQL, etc). Must be highly competent in building complex database queries.
    • Experience of using BI & Analytics Platforms (e.g. Looker, Power BI, Tableau)
    • You will need to be a problem solver with a flexible attitude to managing projects, and senior stakeholder engagement.
    • Time Management, able to manage your own time efficiently and keep regular communication with the senior team on work development
    • Strong presentation skills

    Nice to have or know:

    • Some experience in using R or Python to build, maintain and orchestrate data pipelines across a business.
    • Confident working with API’s and coding/scripting pipelines to surface and transform this data into analysis friendly assets using technologies such as BigQuery or Amazon Redshift.
    • Web analytics technologies such as Google Analytics/Firebase to design end to end data solutions that deliver comprehensive digital insights.
    • CRM data support, either through segmentation of users, or through data generation & permissions. Familiarity with CRM systems and exposure to Responsys or similar
    • Ad tech support, ad partners, metrics and revenue, pipelines and 1st party data imports.
    • Has developed Business Information (BI) reports to monitor KPI’s.
