    We are looking for a Studio Assistant and Junior Photographer to work in the Bauer Media Studio supporting the Chief Photographer. The Bauer Media Studio is an in-house studio working on a mix of editorial and commercial stills assignments across the Bauer Media Brands. The Studio is a truly exciting creative space, no two days are the same, from product cut outs and still lives to portraiture shoots with celebrity and talent.

    A strong interest in still life and some experience is essential to the role. This is the perfect position for an assistant looking to transition to shooting.

    The role

    The Studio Assistant and Junior Photographer Position will be an active and organized team player willing to perfect and improve their photographic knowledge and skills as well as client care to suit the Studio operations and the Clients needs across editorial and audio departments.

    As an assistant will help in the day-to-day running of the studio, organizing and bookings jobs under supervision of the Chief Photographer, upkeeping equipment, adherence to Studio Procedures, acting as Shoot 1st Assistant/digital operator when required.

    As a junior photographer, will shoot and retouch increasingly more complex photography assignments to match their training and development stage. This will eventually include working independently with clients on editorial and commercial projects overseeing aspects of pre production, shooting and post production.

    About you

    • The position requires good and clear communication, technical knowledge of lighting and photography and a general positive attitude to finding working solutions to translate photographic briefs in reality.
    • Experience with Elinchrom lighting system is preferable.
    • We use Sony camera system.
    • Must be proficient with Capture one and Adobe Photoshop software (retouching using a tablet) as a well as good IT literacy with common office applications.
    • A practical mindset to work safely on set, some skills for small set building and moving, sometimes heavy, equipment is necessary to this role.
