The Technical Packaging Engineer is part of the Organization for Packaging engineering and technology. This position interacts with internal and external stakeholders to create, design, and develop packaging structures for complex projects focused on new product launches (local pearls), product transfers as well as business protection comprising all changes to marketed products.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Business protection & maintenance activities including:
- Identification and development of packaging concepts
- On time, in full delivery of project success factors
- Creation of meaningful improvements and cost savings projects
- Effective technical transfer of information to the factory / CMO
- Plans and implements the development of packaging initiatives, such as local NPDs and product transfers. Facilitates the resolution of problems during the development process to meet customers’ needs and provides guidance to continuously improve processes
- Act as the key technical lead via researching, identifying and evaluating new package materials and equipment to ensure manufacturing operations are functional and cost efficient.
- Supports internal and external manufacturing sites as required and drives the development and approval of new technology implementation to assure packaging solutions meet global and local regulations.
- Ensure smooth collaboration with the broader D&P groups as well as all cross-functional partners to guarantee transfer of information, alignment on strategic needs, and adherence to requirements.
- Identifies and develops key external partnerships (in collaboration with Procurement) to ensure best fit to project needs, strategic cost savings strategy/pipeline, innovative supplier selection, and cost budget targets
Who You Are
- Education: Packaging Engineering Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent degree) with extensive experience, or Master’s Degree (or equivalent degree) with good experience
- Experience: A proven track record in managing packaging development, including the creation, development & delivery of new packaging and business protection & maintenance of launched packaging, ensuring efficient production and best in class quality in the supply chain. Consumer healthcare or FMCG experience required.
