    About the role

    The opportunity has arisen in the MDS Marketing team for 6 - 12 months fixed term contract managing a team of 3 marketers for the key growth driver product portfolio in the MDS business Unit. This positon is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will be required to attend the office 2 days per week.

    Overview & Purpose

    Implement the European marketing strategy for the Vascular Access Management (VAM) portfolio of products & services in the UK & Ireland, including direct responsibility for all vascular access devices (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters, Midlines, Ports, Peripheral Intravenous Catheters) as well as the Care & Maintenance portfolio (needle-free connectors , flush & skin preparation platforms), as key growth contributors. This high-profile role leads significant growth in MDS with a pipeline of new product launches and solutions delivery.

    The role will lead the development and execution of marketing plans to produce maximum sales, growth and profitability; establishing and maintaining a strong competitive edge through identification of strategic and tactical marketing opportunities and development of promotional and communication programmes. The position has at least 3 direct reports of varying marketing seniority, including 2 product managers and a marketing intern, with the potential to expand to a 4th team member.

    The success of the role requires leadership and the ability to integrate multiple product portfolios under the single "Vascular Access Management" value proposition.

    Main responsibilities will include

    • Work with regional marketing counterparts to develop the local brand, portfolio strategies and execution plans, personally, or through direct team members, to achieve financial/ budget expectations
    • Lead all aspects of marketing plans, pricing strategy, demand generation, production forecast and inventory issues
    • To develop and apply deep market and customer insights to enable fact-based decisions and impactful strategies and value propositions that resonate with customers’ needs and build tactics with a critical view on return on investment.
    • Market development and shaping working with other stakeholders in this area
    • Building collaborative relationships within the local and regional teams
    • Develop deep customer and market insight to enable fact-based decisions, providing in-depth knowledge on market trends, competition and key influencers
    • Supervise and address business and marketing key performance indicators
    • Leadership, mentoring, coaching and development of reporting team members
    • You are at ease with digital marketing tools and a super-user for key BD tools incl. Salesforce.com, BD Way of Marketing

    • Strong commercial awareness and clear understanding of both strategic & tactical marketing methodology in an ethical healthcare environment.
    • Ability to translate market complexities and clinical information into marketing strategies and tactical programs
    • Understanding of the healthcare industry with a focus on acute clinical setting and vascular access.
    • Market development and shaping
    • Strong communications capabilities to gain support and dedication from others and drive execution
    • Building collaborative relationships within the local commercial team and regional marketing teams

    Qualifications Experience

    • Degree level qualification in business or science.
    • Marketing Diploma or MBA preferred
    • Strong marketing experience (incl. prior experience at Product Manager or Sr Product Manager level) in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical sector, looking after a portfolio of high-volume products (consumables, therapy development, OTC, etc.) in a matrix environment
    • Sales or clinical experience in vascular access highly desired.
    • Team management experience desired but not essential
    • IT competent, including CRM systems
    • Willingness to travel minimum 20%
