    About r&d

    The Research and Development (R&D) department are responsible for the entire design and development process of all Bentley products, from idea creation all the way through to engineering sign off. Our mission is to inspire our customers by creating extraordinary products through passion, collaboration and sustainable innovation. Our R&D team consists of six departments: Products & Concepts, Body & Trim, Electrical & Electronics, Vehicle Motion, Whole Vehicle Engineering and Technical Conformity.

    As a Graduate at Bentley you will be working alongside and mentored by R&D industry technical experts, giving you real-life tangible experience to elevate your career journey in R&D.

    Electrical audio and comminications

    At the cutting edge of UI/UX development, the Audio and Output device team are driving future technology for the luxury automotive sector. This R&D team utilises the best technology from our VW Group partners, adding the Bentley Identity through unique integration of the complex hardware, software and data to curate and enhance our customers extraordinary journey’s. Our Graduate will have the opportunity to practically demonstrate and experience what it’s like to be an Engineer within the Luxury Automotive Industry. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Collaborate with your technical mentor to support and complete tasks towards the delivery of actual customer destined for a forthcoming vehicle within the Audio and output device team
    • Explore the Bentley business and the other areas within R&D to raise your awareness of how a luxury automotive business operates and develop your knowledge of modern vehicle architectures and systems
    • Opportunity to complete all aspects of the delivery of a customer functionality independently. This includes gathering customer requirements, through to solution integration into the vehicle and ultimate verification/validation for release to the customer

    About you

    The successful candidates will be on track to achieve a 2:1 in the following degrees: Engineering, Automotive Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a degree discipline that includes Simulation, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Data Analytics. It would be advantageous to have completed academic projects which demonstrate knowledge of automotive electronics, software or vehicle control systems. The successful candidate will:
