    About r&d

    The Research and Development (R&D) department are responsible for the entire design and development process of all Bentley products, from idea creation all the way through to engineering sign off. Our mission is to inspire our customers by creating extraordinary products through passion, collaboration and sustainable innovation. Our R&D team consists of six departments: Products & Concepts, Body & Trim, Electrical & Electronics, Vehicle Motion, Whole Vehicle Engineering and Technical Conformity.

    As a Graduate at Bentley you will be working alongside and mentored by R&D industry technical experts, giving you real-life tangible experience to elevate your career journey in R&D.

    Environmental and propulsion test

    The Environmental and Propulsion Test Team sits in the R&D Technical Conformity Function. It is responsible for the delivery of vehicle test and validation activities performed on Pre-production development, Type approval and Conformity of Production vehicles. As a Graduate, you will experience all stages of the product lifecycle. The function operates from a state of the art climatic test facility commissioned in 2021 to meet the evolving technological needs of the Business. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Working within the testing function to support full range of test disciplines from vehicle diagnostics through to delivery of Testing on chassis dynamometer
    • Understanding, manipulating and producing reports with large volumes of test data to support our internal customers
    • Owning a test discipline, from receipt of vehicle to delivery of test, ensuring all customer requirements are met

    About you

    The successful candidates will be on track to achieve a 2:1 in the following degrees: Environmental Science or Mechanical, Electronic, Automotive or Aeronautical Engineering. It would be advantageous to have prior work experience, a clear interest in environmental topics and strong teamwork abilities. The successful candidate will:
