    To assist the community liaison officer to develop and manage relationships with the existing community, be pro – active in assisting building new relationships and implement the community plan. Working closely with the Production, Land and Communication teams, they will play a pivotal role in communicating key technical issues to the community during the construction process. Working alongside key public, private and voluntary partners, the post will support in bringing about lasting social, economic and environmental improvements.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support in building a vibrant community at The Green Quarter through:
      • Developing and running regular events
      • Regular communications with the residents
      • Assist the management of community initiatives
      • Working with any resident associations
    • Assist the development and management of the Community Engagement Plan with the local community and stakeholders.
    • Support employment with the project Employment and Skill Coordinator on delivering the Employment and Skills Plan, including engaging with schools and youth workers, and careers fairs.
    • Encourage the development of new ideas and initiatives, and assist to enable them to be turned into practical action where appropriate.
    • Deal with ad hoc enquiries from the local neighbourhood in a constructive and timely manner.
    • Pro – actively develop relationships with the local community, including door knocking existing neighbours to ensure they have all the information required on the development.
    • Create effective and impactful methods of communication with residents to gain their endorsement.
    • Produce and communicate key site activities with the community and key local stakeholders.
    • Prepare the content of the project and construction updates with the Project and Land team. Develop quarterly newsletters with the Communications team.
    • Build relationships with the existing community, resident groups, local businesses, local authorities and key local stakeholders.
    • Act as an ambassador of Berkeley West Thames by promoting our strategic objectives for creating a new community.
    • Evidence community impact through monthly and annual reporting.
