If you have answered “yes” to the above, then our BGL Insurance Emerging Leaders Commercial Management Programme will be available to ambitious individuals that meet our selection criteria.

    The role

    The Emerging Leaders Commercial Management Programme is for ambitious individuals who wish to stretch and develop business/commercial knowledge and skills whilst completing an apprenticeship. The programme provides an invaluable insight into various departments contributing to the delivery of business through structured rotational placements for our managers of the future.

    Your journey with BGL Insurance will start with a unique 2–3-year programme giving you an opportunity to take on real business responsibilities within your placements. During your final year you will become part of a new project or initiative whilst also gaining an Insurance Professional (CII) Level 4 apprenticeship qualification. You will rotate on either 6 or 8-month placements across specialised departments with regular reviews to discuss your individual development and longer-term career plans.

    We have start dates available in April and September.

    During your programme you will learn to demonstrate an understanding of

    • BGL Insurance and its place within the insurance market and the available products and services
    • BGL Insurance’s strategy and how each placement area contributes to our commercial success
    • The impact of change within BGL Insurance and the insurance market and how it effects the role and wider business objectives
    • The importance of being proactive in developing the relationships and networks required, achieving business objectives and ensuring that customers and colleagues needs are met
    • The processes and procedures relevant to the technical requirements of each placement, regulatory requirements and the impact on the wider organisation and industry
    • The importance of your own development plan and ensuring all study activities are completed in the deadlines provided and to a high standard.

    Skills, Experience and Knowledge

    • Degree or Equivalent OR breadth of experience working in Financial Service/Insurance Industry
    • Strong A levels (or equivalent)
    • Solid GCSE Grades including English & Math’s at level 4 or above (or equivalent)
    • Proven ability to modify communication style to your audience
    • Takes responsibility and initiative for delivering results
    • Resilient, works flexibly to achieve desired outcomes
