    We have an exciting opportunity at BGL insurance for a Data Insight Analyst. The purpose of this role is to deliver outstanding, actionable customer insight. You will be responsible for providing data analytics that helps to shape BGLi strategic roadmaps and customer propositions, working with a variety of teams and stakeholders to embed your findings.

    Our Data and Pricing team provides value in showcasing the business how to monetise data, we are a team of 50 and growing BI, Pricing and Data Science analytical professionals working with every corner of our commercial business. This role sits in the Data Science team. The Data Science team provides insights, products and services to internal / external stakeholders from partnerships, insurers, customer insight, digital, marketing and call centre teams.

    The role

As part of your Data Science career, you will be expected to develop and understand a wide range of modern statistical, machine learning and data science methods. This knowledge will be applied to a wide range of business problems, adding demonstrable commercial value.

    Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

    • Develop a data-driven understanding of customer behaviour within BGLi and provide actionable insights
    • Use advanced analytics, statistical methods and machine learning
    • Explore large structured/ unstructured data from a variety of sources
    • Work closely with a range of teams to identify and understand new opportunities
    • Present findings and recommendations to the wider business
    • Explore, distil and visualise data using leading tools and technology
    • Contribute to the wider Data team by sharing knowledge, ideas and findings
    • Demonstrates / promotes the value of Analytics and customer insight within BGLi
    • Builds strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across BGLi
    • Shares knowledge, ideas and highlights across the Data team
    • Works closely with the wider data team to identify opportunities to improve capability and efficiency

    Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

    • Demonstrable experience in a commercial environment
    • Excellent analytical / problem solving skills
    • Knowledge of applied statistical concepts / methodology
    • Strong communicator that can adapt for audiences of varying technical abilities
    • Ability to gather and interpret business needs and requirements
    • Self-motivated and proactive
    • High attention to detail
    • Resilience
    • Experience using an analytical tool/language (Python, R or equivalent) or SQL (advantageous)
    • Hands-on experience of data analysis and communicating findings (advantageous)
    • Hands-on experience in the cloud platform and tools i.e. Azure, AWS, Databricks (advantageous)
