    What is the Biffa Graduate Scheme?

    The Biffa Graduate Scheme works alongside your new role to provide extra support and development to stretch and build you during the first few months of your Biffa career. Our Graduate Scheme includes personal development sessions, ongoing feedback and site visits across the business to help you understand the core of our industry in greater depth. You will work through the Scheme with other Graduates new to the business so you have a great community of people to build valuable contacts with.

    There are two main development aspects for this role:

    1. Business Development - To manage, develop and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities to deliver profitable revenue growth for the Region and Area.

    2. Business Improvement - To maintain and support the growth of existing major accounts within a portfolio, as well as to ensure existing clients remain profitable and are retained within the business from competition.

    Within the role there will be the opportunity to support the Regional Commercial Manager within their role in terms of strategic planning /sales campaign organising / projects plus experience in managing aspects of the Business Development and Business Improvement teams.

    There will be a requirement for frequent travel around our South Central Region and this can be between High Wycombe down to Southampton/Isle of Wight.

    • Pro-actively and reactively selling profitable new business within a territory to meet set targets.
    • Managing a sales territory and or prospect lists for business opportunities.
    • Reporting calls, leads, quotes and contract activity on to the Company Operating System.
    • Producing and presenting weekly, monthly, quarterly personal performance.
    • Liaising regularly with Depot Manager / Regional Commercial Manager / Regional General Manager to determine roll out sales strategy within the Region.
    • Be the primary interface between Biffa and our target customers.
    • Responsible for sales prospecting and pricing negotiations.
    • Responsible for client retention v competition plus existing client growth.

    How long is the Graduate Scheme for?

    The Biffa Graduate Scheme is a 12month long scheme, after 12months you will continue working in your full time position. Please note: travel will be required as part of your Programme.

    Am I guaranteed a job at the end of the Scheme?

    Yes, after the 12months you will fall into your permanent full time role. You will stay within the area you initially entered, unless agreed with your Line Manager.
