    An excellent opportunity to work as an Associate Tutor supporting the teaching team on the BSc Psychology programme.

    About the role

    Your role will be to support teaching, in order to enable students to complete their studies successfully and undertake related course administrative duties as required. Your main responsibility will be preparation and running studying skills focused seminar, teaching, and marking assessment on the Academic Skills for Psychology first year, level 4 module.

    Most incumbents of roles at this level will be employed as part of their general academic development and will be undertaking this work independently but in parallel with postgraduate studies.

    What you'll need

    In addition to the criteria specified in the job pack below, candidates must have:

    • A first degree in Psychology or an equivalent relevant qualification.
    • Advanced experience in using a range of statistical techniques and report writing suitable for quantitative psychological science research.
    • A good working knowledge of SPSS.
    • The ability able to work both as part of a team and independently as appropriate and have the ability to support teaching.
    • A willingness to engage in reflective practice

    This is a fixed term appointment for 11 weeks from 9th October 2023 to 1 January 2024, working 3 hours per week Mondays 6pm to 9pm.

    Remuneration

    Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £58.47 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 6 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
