We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Birkbeck Students’ Union’s team and be involved in an exciting period of positive change.
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be a current student or recent Birkbeck graduate, who is committed to listening and engaging the diverse Birkbeck student population who has the skills, enthusiasm and creativity to support the Students’ Union communications team to build our Birkbeck community and a positive student experience for everyone.
In this role, you will ensure Birkbeck students are engaged and aware of the Union’s activity through the development and delivery of the Student Union’s communication strategy. You will expand on your communication skills and have the opportunity to develop design and video skills through content creation.
You will ensure students feel supported and heard by providing excellent customer service across the Students’ Union mailbox and social media channels. You will lead on identifying emerging trends from student feedback to ensure the Students’ Union remains representative in their work, and aware of student needs.
To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for communication and a demonstratable ability to communicate clearly in different formats (e.g. written/verbal). You will be able to demonstrate good organisation skills and have a proven track record of excellent customer service. You will have great attention to detail, with the ability to identify key information.
This role is only open to current Birkbeck Students and recent Birkbeck Graduates.
Remuneration
Grade 3 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £24,923 rising to £27,727 per annum.
The salary quoted will be pro-rata for this part time post and is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
