ABBE is an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of BCU, based in Millennium Point. We are a small and dynamic team, focused on developing and delivering vocationally related qualifications and assessments.
This is an exciting opportunity for a BCU Graduate to join the ABBE team and to gain an insight to all the processes and practices required within a regulated Awarding Organisation.
The Role
You will join a small team of five dedicated professionals, working to produce qualifications and assessments aimed at those looking to progress within the Built Environment.
We will introduce you to all aspects of our operation, giving you the opportunity to work in each area, from our administrative systems, examination development, quality assurance, finances and qualification developments to meeting our customers and Board.
You will have the opportunity to practice the skills you already have and to develop new skills. As part of your role within ABBE you will learn how to:
- Maintain administrative systems
- Process qualification registrations and certificate claims
- Produce and dispatch Newsletters
- Respond to Regulatory data requests
- Process Quality reports
- Develop and build examinations
- Develop qualification support materials
- Upload data to the regulatory portal
- Upload data to vendor platforms
The Post Holder
- Educated to degree level, having achieved their degree from BCU
- The ability to:
- Make decisions and solve problems
- Assemble, evaluate, and analyse information
- Communicate effectively.
- Adopt a proactive and self-managing work style
- A high level of literacy and numeracy
- Excellent IT skills including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software packages, preferably Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- The ability to develop excellent team working skills with the ability to work collaboratively and co-operatively with colleagues
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with an articulate, confident and diplomatic approach to communications and tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive issues
- Ability to successfully manage relationships with a wide range of contacts both internal and external to ABBE
- Ability to assimilate written and verbal communication
- Excellent attention to detail, including proof reading skills, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities on own initiative
- Ability to draft a high standard of written correspondence on own initiative
- Ability to deal with sensitive information and to maintain confidentiality at all times
